Insert witty title here

It's been a loooooong week.

Summarized, in chronological order:
  • Got my AS results! 4As ^^ but still don't know breakdown yet... Still have enormous urge to apply to Imperial College London. (greedy right, i know)

    Chuck/Blair - I love you.Image by bitchymode via Flickr

  • Went to Genting with family. Ah kong, ah ma & dad happily trudged off to casino while mom and I went shopping. Bought two hairbands from Bonita! Yes, fashion ala Blair Waldorf has gotten to me;

Blair/Chuck - Teasing you.Image by bitchymode via Flickr

I was going to wear it out but CC said I looked like a Std 6 student o.O. But i'll wear it out, someday...
  • Aus Fair at idp, subang on Friday. Honestly it didn't really help much 'cause I still prefer UK...
  • Cadbury Chocettes Finals at the Curve, Damansara! We didn't make it past 1st round (they eliminated 15 contestants okay) but it was all fun nevertheless... except the part where BS lost her phone. Long story, but we suspect it was a Malay couple (the guy was intentionally bald and tattooed, with typical fashionable malay lady, both probably in their mid-20s) seated behind us. BS (seated on my left) and SH (on my far left) went to refill Cokes at McD, their bags were unattended, I was there but watching the performances. I saw the malay guy "kacau-ing" SH's bag, I thought it was blocking his view or something, so I didn't suspect anything, but I took SH's bag and placed it on my lap, plus double checked her phone and wallet-- still there. Haiz but I didn't think of checking BS's bag; they probably took hers first before targeting SH's.
  • BS slept over at my house 'cause it was a lil dangerous travelling all alone back to her Inti Subang hostel WITHOUT a phone.. So we watched 大喜事 (singaporean movie) & Ice Age 3 on PPStream...
Oh ya and since the trip to the Curve, I realised it would be really fun shopping there! Esp The Walk at the curve--there was a whole line of mini clothes stalls, but i guess that trip'll have to wait till the H1N1 flu gets less serious...

Comtemplation

My next exam will be on next friday, Biology Paper 2... So brace yourselves for loads of self-indulgent, boredom-induced, endless frustration wielding posts.

psst. Here's the perfect example :)

I think the new nuffnang app (inconspicuously located at the lower right corner of the screen) is pretty useful! It allows you to browse through the most recent updates of other Nuffnangers, thus driving more traffic into your blog as well.

So while I was bloghopping it dawned on me that lots of bloggers nowadays fall into my age group (the "i'm not a girl not yet a woman" or likewise in guy version). Plus most of them are in colleges and when I browse through their photos (not stalker ok you have a blog archive for a REASON) I almost ALWAYS see someone I recognise! That's where the 6 degrees of separation theory comes in :)

BUT while some of their blogs are so stripped down & just overflowing with individuality, there's still the inevitable...

blogs with so many self-camwhoring or with boyfriend-camwhoring pics that if you make them into your 1cmx1cm mosaic tiles you could rebuild an entire life-sized statue of liberty! (haha i was trying too hard with the hyperbole)

I mean I PERFECTLY understand the incessant need to camwhore to soothe our inner insecurities but when you place 19837481746 self indulgent pics on the web, to me, it's really show-offy. C'mon what happened to old school modesty?

But then again, I can't 100% guarantee I wouldn't do the same if I had:
  • Jessica Alba's curves in the right places
  • Song Hye Kyo's flawless features
  • A wardrobe full of current season clothes (the last time I shopped was around 2 months ago. Pasar malam t-shirt. beat that.)
  • a boyfriend comparable to the likes of Utt (MTV VJ!) or Adam Lambert (minus the gay part obviously)
Heck, I might be complaining how all my blogger friends put up endless photos of their cute babies 10 years later while I blog about my (desperate!) excursion to the sperm bank.

That's the problem with us Librans. We start an argument, and end it ourselves.

Okay gotta go do some studying now! Dad's giving me the don't-you-have-exams look...

Cranky

Playing For Change | Song Around The World "Stand By Me" from Concord Music Group on Vimeo.

Stolen from Jason Mraz's blog.

Feeling a little under the weather lately due to stress and this annoying blister in my mouth that causes pain if I make any noticeable facial expression. And the fact that I have so many unanswered questions on Chem and Physics. What is wrong with me?

Hmph.

Still don't know who's eliminated for this week's American Idol.. Hopefully it's Danny Gokey (please don't tell me don't tell me)

Taking a Break

Yesterday we went to Take a Break (Opposite Old Town Subang, around Taylors Business School) for lunch; The best thing about the place is that they provide UNO, poker cards and even the long forgotten Jenga! (aka UNO stacko)

Reliving our childhood memories~

Mama worried at the precarious state of the tower of blocks; we screamed when it wobbled and got annoyed stares from neighbouring tables and guys imitating our squeals, but something tells me if we weren't all so self conscious they would want to play too :P

Okay this is AFTER we cheated; we just couldn't bear just letting it all topple down so we tried to stack it as tall as possible; note the evil laugh from Lih Yi

And to curb the daily monotony we started a new game; inspired by an activity I had in Form 2.

Just grab a paper and pen, and you can begin! but it's a group activity kind of thing...

Get different people to write these details: (in chronological order)

1. A male name
2. A female name
3. a place
4. what are they doing
5. He says "....."
6. She says "......"

So it's like the first person will write down the name of a male (anyone will do! but if it's a friend etc it'll be funnier). then fold the paper so the 2nd person can't see the male's name, and simply write a girl's name... and continue likewise. So every detail is sort of disconnected and sometimes it produces hilarious effects!

An example:

Ah Loo &

Mama

were in a hotel room

slapping each other's faces

He says: I went to the hospital yesterday

She says: Your armpit hair is so sexy...

He says: Mine is the longest.

She says: I'm starving.

Finally the jumped into the sea.

Neurons all jumbled up

This is a really "rojak"-ed post 'cause I'm torn between blogging and revising Bio for next mon's mock! So a quickie is the only way to go :)

But firstly:

Happy Belated Birthday Koo Yen Woon!!!

Thanks for being such a great friend for the past 8++ years and I'm sooo glad to have you in my life! Rock on my superb songstress~

And some sketches Mama made at college:

Mama was halfway trimming her fringe hence the displaced lock of hair

And brace yourselves... mama was going to sketch CK, one of our classmates...

And it turned out to look something like this!

It was then we decided it looked too much like...

Datuk Lee Chong Wei!!!

And some Secret Recipe stuff Suat Hoon n I had for lunch :)

Oreo Cheese Cake!

BBQ Chicken Rice

Somehow we ate till the cake sorta looked like an arrow :)

Okay!!

Gotta studystudystudy...

Fanatic

The week has been fairly uneventful except the brooding fear that Cambridge AS (Advanced Subsidiary) exams is just about 2 months away, and I'm still lazing around.. and dreaming about Adam Lambert.

He's my favourite American Idol contestant so far! Along with Danny Gokey and Alexis Grace :)

Go Adam!

Freedom or Freakdom?

I finally got my "P" driving license last saturday! And almost immediately after that, my parents and I hopped into the car and drove to the nearest stationary shop to pick up my "P" car sticker. Yeah my driving school uncle didn't give me any. But the Fernando Alonso in me was dying to be unleashed (Haha okay la I actually drive 20km/h on normal road. Stifle that sneer of yours.)

And so there begins the real challenge:
  • At a junction, stop COMPLETELY. (or else you can hear dad shouting "BRAKE!! BRAKE!!")
  • Look right, left, right, etc until there are no moving objects in a 5km radius. (Trees excluded)
  • Never drive more than 40km/h (or else it'll be considered speeding)
  • Before turning left/right, signal beforehand at least 10 seconds before. Or not "you confuse other people and they'll not give way to you; they don't know you're NEW"
  • Be wary of kids, esp those on bicycles. But honestly they really think that cars are nonexistent and they ride around in zig-zag style. In front of your car. It's like waving a red cloth in front of a bull. Unfortunately I'm just a lamb o.O
I'm going to pick up my mom from work later; wish me luck! (and my dad's blood pressure too)

ED: UPDATE: I was going through my phone and found this collage we did a couple of days ago in college.

Can you guess who's who?

Or just find which one is my face la :P

Her name's 黄芝琪 (Ooi/Ng Tze Kay) btw...

Glee

Yay I passed my driving test! Though I stopped before the line on the bukit 1st time round... Everything went well, thanks to:

  • God who answered my prayers
  • Suzanne n college mates who used law of attraction for me
  • Grandparents who calmed me down this whole morning when I constantly yelled around the house with 10 second intervals
And oh ya no forgetting my lucky red undies driving jeans :)

D-Day: Driving Test Day

Gosh I haven't felt this nervous since my piano Grade 8 practical, which was like... 3 years ago? Even SPM doesn't give me this kind of jitters because I'm always nervous about hands-on stuff. You can never, EVER practice enough.

Yeeah I'm having my driving test tomorrow.

*screams into oblivion*

HOWHOWHOWHOWHOW This morning I mati enjin-ed on the bukit for 3 consecutive times, as in the start kereta-balance minyak n clutch-mati enjin sequence repeating itself. 3 freakin freakin times.

And I just can't get over the image of myself rolling down the hill. I seriously don't know why I can be such a pathetic pessimist. Think of the bright side! If I fail, at least I'll be able to see the driving school and my driving instructor again... -_-" AND part with another RM100.

And my test is in the afternoon, so I have the whole morning moping around the house, replay my "rolling down the hill" scene in my paranoid mind again & mope around the house.

I know I don't usually pray in my blog so Lord, if you're reading this, please:

  • Get me a good car with a shorter clutch paddle & easier controls
  • Get me a good invigilator who doesn't mind whispering tips to me, and turning a blind eye once in a while (tho preferably more often)
  • Make sure the weather's good
  • Bless me with wisdom, courage & confidence
  • And if all else fails,
  • Just control my limbs and work a miracle. I have full trust in you.
And to others, just wish me luck! This time I really need to add oil... (加油)

Garden, say Gaaar-Duhn

That was the first word that I taught baby Jaz 2 days ago!

And heck, I never realized taking care of a baby for 4 hrs straight with my mom can be more tiring than going from Klang to Subang to Puduraya and back again in one day. It's like I don't even dare lose sight of her for one second, just in case she puts anything dangerous, or gross, (like poop!) into her mouth...

I digress but seriously! My bro (Jaz's dad), found me once holding my own poop-filled diaper in my hands looking pretty perplexed in my baby years. But what I did with it remains a mystery till now :)

My parents entertaining the baby.. The camera in my samsung phone takes a while to capture the image, hence the blurriness

To prove that babies look a lot larger in photos.

Trying to mencungkil her bakat at piano, but apparently she was more interested in pulling the music book off the piano. For me to pick it up and put it back up again. I believe she might be secretly mocking me for being such a slave to her.

Finally! The baby falls asleep.

Aww my first camwhore session with Jaz! Lesson #2 should be about staring straight into the camera and stop fidgeting

Caught with her clothes off! Oh, the obscenity! The vulgarity!

I just found this exceptionally sweet =) Jaz on her dad's shoulders.

So anyway, Happy Chinese New Year everyone! May the married be more generous with angpows and the rest be on a 拜年 (bai nian/pay New Year Calls) frenzy and soak in the seasonal cheer (though that phrase sounds so Christmassy)

AND AND.

Oh ya remember I wanted to start a wordpress blog? It's ALMOST ready... go check it out at tzehui.wordpress.com and tell me what you think!

Friday, January 9

omg it's 2009 already!

and it has been one week of college! This year there seems to be quite a crowd at the Inti Subang enrolment week, with quite a number of students from China based on their thick accent.

And i figured that college really inspires me; suddenly I'm all hyped up to join Toastmasters Club, which i hope can improve my public speaking (yes, I'm a really shy person *blink blink*) take Chinese for AS in cambridge a levels and choose Dentistry as my lifetime career...

Then after doing some research on the Net, I found out I was still underage for the toastmasters club, besides, most of the members are those who are out at work, not students and definitely not midgets like me who could get a child's ticket for movies T.T

as for Chinese language for a levels, I have to translate an english essay into chinese! When in fact I heard that it was easier than form 5 chinese...

and when I told Tiffy I was considering dentistry, she was like "eew, you have to smell people's bad breath every day"...

ok la not EVERYONE has bad breath right? and at least I can talk to people everyday (when I get socially deprived I get all loony easily. and paranoid. trust me.)

and Tiffy said "that's the problem, dentists always try to talk to the patients when we are lying down there with our mouth open, like how are we supposed to answer them?"

(sorry these are not the exact words of Tiffany Foo because I don't save msn messages and I have short term memory. Tiffany Foo Sze Yee, please don't sue me.)

I remembered last time when I went to get my braces tightened, my orthodontist would be really busy talking on the phone + texting on ANOTHER handphone + fix my braces all at the same time!

AND he didn't wear his surgical mask since he was chatting on the phone. AND all his saliva ended up where? as gravity would tell you, it all ended up in my wide open mouth. EWWWW

I'm telling you braces are not to be done without deliberate consideration or based on random notion or 'cause it looks like a cute accessory on your teeth. It can get really, really painful the 1st few days after tightening. So eat more anchovies/ikan bilis/kang hu kia 'cause I heard that they can make sure your teeth stay straight. Or so I've heard.

Sorry no pics for this post and it's a bunch of random, disorganized rambling! I'm trying out different styles of writing, and partially 'cause I'm really tired and lazy of posting pics and I'm having sore throat now, so. And by the way still no mood to study.

so how was your 1st week of the year?

Random

I am DAMN BORED at home! And nowadays I don't play the sims anymore, and facebook kind of bores me (you see even I so kepoh type also can get bored with it) and i'm out of good books to read T.T

oh ya and I did this random test:
blog readability test

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder =)

Why

Sometimes I really really wonder what can I do to make my blog ratings soar. Drastically.

Like from 10 unique visits per day to like 10,000.

And I read in someone's blog that she likes to read people writing about their lives. It feels like knowing that blogger personally.

Okay Kenny Sia / Xia Xue / Su Ann etc write about their lives. I write about my life too.

HOW COME I'M NOT FAMOUS???

Why don't sponsors find me for some product testing (haha yeah this is too far fetched) or why don't I get higher blog viewership? Can't I live a mundane & boring life and be rich at the same time? T.T

Okay la this post is an experiment. Whether people really enjoy reading other people's lives.

I cook. Every weekday. But honestly I just cook la. My mom prepares all the raw materials and I just cook them. (Wah since when did I have such a limited vocabulary)

Baked Beans (from the can) + Eggs

Bitter Gourd + Prawns

Curry fish and Lady's fingers

Last wednesday I went for my undang test. And passed! 48/50. And I completed my amali just hours ago.
Apart from cooking, I also spend my time reading.

And camwhoring.

And oh yeah.

I lost the left side of my contact lenses when I was in the attempt of putting them on around 2 weeks ago. Initially I thought it went into my eye (you have NO IDEA how paranoid I can be; except Tiffy :P)

Choi Ju once told me her sister's friend (yeah the stories are always from a friend's friend's friend) used to sleep with her contacts and they went to the back of her eye! They had to take it out through operation.

So having lost one side of my contacts and suddenly thinking of the story got me freaked out and my left eye started to feel uncomfortable & itchy. My whole family got into a toilet-wide search for the rubbery, transparent little thing.

Thankfully my dad found it. And my left eye miraculously stopped itching.

See? The biggest news that has happened in my life is an unnecessary worry over an eye operation.

Ok la. To add to the news, I have class gathering this weekend but I don't dare wear my contacts because we're going for steamboat. And I'm afraid that the steam with make my contacts melt.

Heck, people worry about dying from hunger, poverty and terrorist attacks, and I'm worried over melting contacts??

Librainy the Guilt-Ridden

yes. aside from being great and intellectual, I am EXTREMELY guilty for being away from my blog for such a long time and losing my readers, too *sob* (yes!! I mean YOU)

As my reasons(excuses) of absence, I have it all listed down here:
1. Busy studying for Bible Quiz
2. Practicing piano for competition
3. Taekwondo Grading
4. Upcoming Mid-year exam

i guess my life is seems quite insignificant (to you) but rather it's just a way for me to soothe my consience for abandoning my blog...
