I know I sound like a rich tai-tai chun gu (In Manglish: kampung girl) flaunting her possessions but guess what sis got me as a present for my A Level results XD

 

A PRADA set of perfume + tissue (???) + lotion!

Apparently Prada in UK is about 50% cheaper than sold elsewhere. LOL sorry I know I should be more discreet. And subtle. But the thing is saya tak tahu guna perfume T.T Some people say you're supposed to spray it high in the air before you and then walk into it. Is this true??

And sadly, I will never fit in with the food & wine connoisseurs etc because my sensory organs are pretty much numb and damaged. I cannot tell if the food is over-salty unless people start commenting about the food. Then all my senses seem to come back to me. So I remember once my college friends and I went to Sasa to smell test the perfumes and they all smelled the same to me o.O

Fluff is a US brand but the designs are similar to the brand Lollipop, no?

Anyway. Been watching tons of movies lately... And time indeed crawls by without work! OMG I've been checking facebook too many times a day.

August Rush was okay... The whole "music-is-all-around-us-&-we-just-need-to-listen" concept is pretty interesting to watch though the plot is a teensy bit unbelievable, but Freddie Highmore (from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory is so sweet ^^)

9 was lame; apparently it was supposed to be a short movie and they sort of lengthened it to make it into a movie. But the lamest was True Legend; but I guess through this movie I realised Zhou Xun is my fav female Chinese actress! She has this intelligent-cum-pretty look :)

Julie & Julia portrays the parallel lives of Julie (Amy Adams) in the year 2002 and Julia (Meryl Streep) around the 1950 era. About how both women fall in love with cooking; loved this show though didn't like Amy Adams that much.

The Bucket List by Jack Nicholson & Morgan Freeman. Need I say more? Not bad but still, not amazing too.

Hooked to Prison

I know I'm outdated by four years but I've FALLEN IN LOVE with Prison Break after watching the complete 1st season! (thanks & no thanks to big sis; made me glued to the TV screen for hours & gave me time to bond with my growing waistline -_-")


For those who have shrugged off Prison Break as a TV series that's a guy's show with plenty of vulgarities, violence & unnecessary action, you were like me, BEFORE I started watching the series.

It's actually about a guy, Michael Scofield (starring Wentworth Miller! such a pretty boy) trying to save his brother, Lincoln Burrows from prison after Lincoln was wrongly accused of murder he did not commit. All evidence leads directly to him though, because apparently the government is behind this, and they want Lincoln dead. So who can beat the government? But Hollywood movies do tend to dramatize roles of FBI, Secret Services etc... So

All legal ways of saving Lincoln led to dead ends as all the possible witnesses ended up dead or missing, so Micheal decides to "rob a bank" to get into prison, to get his brother out, who gets executed in a month.

Michael, being a structural engineer knows the prison inside out and even tattooed the blueprint on his body! And so with the help of some other inmates they (FINALLY!) break out of prison at the end of season 1.

The show also sheds some light on the warden-prisoner relationship (which hangs on something called $$) and why some of the convicts end up where they are. The characters are pretty much multi-faceted & dynamic. Except Wentworth Miller though. He's just too perfect and woody for me. Something like Keanu Reeves. But who cares? He's Cute :)

Honestly after watching this I feel like a bimbo watching Gossip Girl, no offense. But really, this show is like Da Vinci Code minus religious controversy, Tom Hanks' thinning hairline plus witty strategies all in the right places.

Go watch it!

Or better, tell me what happened in Season 2 up till now :P

The latest torture weapon

Flipping through fashion mags, I've always wondered why some gals needed a closet full of shoes when you just have, actually, only a pair of feet to fit them into...


But somehow my perspective changed with the coming of age (haiyo vain d ma :P) and shoes are actually cute lil' things that do make a difference in life... especially heels! These are some of the perks:

1. Makes me look taller (veryx100 important!)
2. Surge of happiness due to increased height (an alternative when the Secret fails :P)
   
3. Surge of happiness due to sounds made during contact with floor (clickety-clack makes me feel professional somehow)
4. Used as self-defense object (either throw it at him or kick where it hurts most)

I'm a pathetic size 3 (or size 4, depends) which makes it extremely difficult to find shoes that fit (esp those on discounts) and even if they fit, my feet always ends up like this:

~Librainy's feet revealed: old and new blisters from wearing heels~

~one of the few torture tools... sounds a little erotic or is it just me?~

So what to do? I can only choose between self-torture and looking short.

Final choice: self torture lo. At least it'll make up for my (hopelessly) petite figure... XD

Tempted... by the devil? Nah. More like commercialism

With the advancement of "brainotechnology" (is there such word?) or something, psychologists and retailers have gotten into the root of our minds, dug deep and found our deepest desires... (don't think dirty, guys!) to feel rich and spend rich!


That's why whenever my sis and I go shopping together, we sort of feel inexorably drawn to shops with the 4-letter word--SALE (which is practically on every shop) in hopes for a good buy, but it seems the only place where you can get really affordable stuff is the pasar malam (or pagi, depending on when u go)

At the tender age of 15++, I don't really know much about shopping, but to me, a blouse priced at RM 49.90 is really too much to bear (unless it's really cute or it says Hail Librany, our Queen! or something) whereas you can easily get a RM 15 T-shirt at the night market.

I just went to Lot 10 and Sungei Wang Plaza last week, and some of the clothes and shoes there are really glamorous (i guess i've not been out that often!! but at LEAST i was not hiding under a tempurung) but sooo pricey! You can say I'm an inexperienced buyer but you would have to go through lots of shopping "mishaps" to gain more experience I guess!

At the end of the day, my sis (who works and earns money) bought BAGS of clothes and shoes back while I (who gets money by pulling the puss-in-boots-pitiful-face stunt) bought a pair of shoes from Vincci...
