This'll be the last post before my A2 exams this beginning this Wednesday *takes deep breath*
Okay before beginning my EMOEMOEMO rant, some good news--I'm an auntie... again!! Cousin Li Ling had to undergo C-section to get the baby out since it was already 2 weeks overdue.. Cute lil baby girl! Don't know her name yet...
EMO reason 1.Just went to IDP Aus Fair 2 days ago to apply for (even more!) unis... So now I've applied for 5 UK unis and 5 Aus Unis, in which none have made any offers to me thus far -_-" But one can just keep hoping right?
EMO reason 2.I'm soooo socially deprived right now!
EMO reason 3. Revision for A2 is killing me. SOOO many things to study (and I can still blog. Sweat betul.)
Anyway here's the MV for Adam Lambert's Time for Miracles for the movie 2012... I'm still his die-hard fan; just listen to that voice of his! Plus watch the super-scary visuals for the end of the world, based on the movie...
With mom whisked away to Scotland with sis for more than a week now, it's a miracle Dad and I are still ventilating. THANKFULLY there's ah kong & ah ma to keep us fed & alive for the week. It's amazing how many things you don't realize moms do for you!
And NOW I know why my mom cleans the house so often. I clean toilet bowl, and the next day there's poop stuck to the side already! (don't ask me who, I asked but no one owned up) I sweep + mop the floor, and the very next day it gets dusty.
Like what's the point??
I'm now considering introducing disposable poop-bags and disposable shoes to be worn in the house so we won't turn into a disease carrying household that suffers from MDD (refer to blog title)
Oh ya and the breakfast! Usually I just wake up and breakfast is prepared, or at least the raw materials for it are accessible (eg sausages/jam/peanut butter/cheese) but now my dad, also an MDD sufferer, fails (or ignores!) this whole process and once again, ah kong & ah ma saves the day.
And ah ma felt a little dizzy yesterday and asked me to take her blood pressure (we have the battery operated one, not the manual one). I think it was 140/79 and I had to double check my Bio textbook to know which category it fell in! So un-professional. If it was my mom she would be like "Oh it's a bit high, maybe because..." and she'll give a reasonable explanation for it. And anyway it'll help ah ma psychologically anyway since my mom's (a nurse) more credible ma. When I had to refer to my books, she gave me that skeptical "Haiyo shouldn't have asked her in the first place" look.
Oh ya speaking of my ah ma, she told me an incident yesterday and I almost laughed my head off. I think my sense of humour is getting stranger and stranger. Maybe it's cause I haven't laughed in a while. Here it is: (translated from Mandarin, of course)
She was talking about how troublesome stray cats were.
Ah Ma: You know there used to be a stray cat who LOVED to poop under our staircase. EVERY DAY also have to poop there.
Me: Then what did you do?
Ah Ma: One day I cannot tahan already so I took it by the neck and forced it to eat its own poop.
Me: (ROFL-ing) How did you force it?
Ah Ma: Just put its mouth near to the poop and it started eating lo..
Me: omg hahahahahhahaa
Oh nooo I think I seriously need a social life. Anyone found that funny or is it just me?
Anyway I found this video here, and it's about why Caucasian guys get Asian girls but Asian guys rarely get to date Caucasian gals. Pretty funny! Esp in the "Ni Hao Ma" part. So true!
That's what I realised after browsing through my past couple of posts. ALL of them are AI-related! And that obviously includes my obsession with Adam Lambert (IF he ever gets to come to Malaysia I'll definitely go.. but then again he doesn't have that clean, good-boy image of David Archuleta... so chances are pretty slim, honestly)
Ok ANYWAY!! Better stop fantasizing about listening to him sing LIVE (omg omg i want that sooo bad) and look what I found on my bro's facebook!
My niece Jiawen's all grown up and DATING! That boy is SO CUTE, by the way. Good catch :P
ED: I just found out from my sis in law that the boy is Liam, 6 months older than Jiawen :)
It just dawned on me that for the past 4 years, I've never written a blog post especially dedicated to my mom...because I've always been making Mother's Day cards to my mom every year and I didn't do one this year, due to
upcoming AS exams (starting this coming Wednesday! *keeping fingers crossed*)
I had too many ideas but not viable for execution, eg
buying a new phone (she's currently using a Nokia phone--forgot which model--with polyphonic ringtones & I'm using a Samsung with 3.0 megapixels! *guilty*) Dad said it was going to be a waste of money and he's worried what I'll do with the money if he's not around etc that was just 0.0001% of the lecture he gave after I made the proposition
making her breakfast based on a recipe I found in June's blog. But I have no idea what's whole wheat flour and I don't know where to get baking powder without her knowing and arousing suspicion PLUS it would be hard to avoid either a undercooked/cooked until very carcinogenic/explosion in the kitchen that could make me a terrosist bombing suspect
simply making her a card I kept procrastinating and the fact that Allision Iraheta was eliminated left me uninspired and emo (haha lamest excuse EVER, I know)
So this post is dedicated to you mom! It really means a lot to me because you always offer the most honest opinion; if I'm on the plump side then you say I'm on the plump side (why must it be TRUE??!!! *sobs*). When we go shopping you seldom shop for yourself; instead you accompany my neverending journey of shoe-scouting, and you never hesitate to buy stuff that you feel worth the money.
When I fall sick you spend the night checking my temperature every few hours; but when you're sick you "quarantine" yourself in the room so you won't infect us. You always encourage me to explore and mix with different people to a certain extent, because you know I'm shy in nature and I'm truly thankful for the freedom you've given me.
But most of all, for the undivided love that you give me, for accepting me (from my bushy eyebrows--see pic above (gasp!) to my height to my occasional impatience and childishness) and raising me up so I can stand on mountains (haha no la that was Josh Groban) to be who I am today.
Today is your day, mom. Although you STILL have to cook & wash clothes & do housework, I just want to say you've done a great job, mom. Be proud of yourself and know that bro & sis & I will always love you!
Though you STILL have to cook & wash clothes & do housework :)
Baby Jaz & her parents just flew back to the US early this morning... And I miss her already T.T
She's just this cute (though occasionally devilish), curious little girl who can't sit still without finding out everything about everyone in the room. And she just has this cute cackle :)
And to imagine the next time I see her she may be running already, or speaking American English (and I'll sound so ulu to her)
At least I still have visual proof that I used to take care of her, in case she denies it when she's older.
But anyway I'll miss you baby Jaz!! And you'd better read this post 10 years later. I'll force you to.
You know I never really thought I could be good with kids. I get bullied by them all the time, and if I fight back, they cry and wail for their mummy. It's like the deadliest form of blackmail.
But surprisingly my (one & only) niece likes me!! wheee...
And kudos to my mom for taking such good care of the baby these few days! (my bro and sis in law are currently in Hong Kong now, will be back tomorrow)
It's definitely NOT easy:
entertaining the baby. Jaz has good taste in jokes. If you pull the same silly face two times in a row, she doesn't fall for it.
ensuring her safety. She has these really strong pair of legs. I bet she would win the Baby Olympics at taekwondo or something. she can crawl from one side of the couch to the other in just like 3 seconds!
feeding her. She's 10 months old but doesn't like to eat! And I thought only young people are obsessed about getting bulimic!
putting her to sleep. She's a light sleeper and wakes up at the slightest noise. And there's a mosque just 1 min away from my house, so...
But anyway you know sometimes I guess it's important to FEEL like you mean something to someone. I mean, cause you can get the most genuine response from a baby. It doesn't know how to fake a smile (yet.)
And today I came clean with a friend about how I felt!
So anyway just so you know.
I don't mind people making jokes about my height (which is not very impressive, unless Hobbits are the "IN" thing) but don't ever cross the line.
There is a difference between "Hey, it's just a joke, re-LAX." and "Haha I'll just make jokes about your height all the time since you don't seem to mind at all"
I'm just saving you some face lest I release all my wrath, anger (and spit) on you, and in front of everyone. I am just tolerating and being less sensitive about it. I HATE it when friends betray my trust.
Hmph.
Updated note: I've posted a password protected post on my other site, and i've sent the password to some of you...
